Giving circle

Fundraising with other donors for several good causes.

Would you like to raise funds, together with other donors (a group, network, service club, alumni association etc.), for several good causes in a particular field?

A giving circle, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation, brings together a group of donors who decide, together, which projects of common interest and which associations they would like to support.

Duration

A giving circle has a duration of three years, which may be extended at the request of those who initiated the circle.

How it works

A giving circle is created following approval from the King Baudouin Foundation’s Local Philanthropy Committee. After it has been set up, its members contribute to fundraising for several good causes. The Foundation is responsible for the administrative and financial management of a giving circle.

Budget

A giving circle raises funds of a minimum of 5,000 euros in donations each year. The King Baudouin Foundation is authorised to deduct each year 5% of the total amount collected in donations to finance its own activities. This amount is degressive for cumulative amounts of over 100,000 euros collected in donations.

Taxation

Donations of 40 euros or more transferred via the King Baudouin Foundation’s account IBAN: BE10 0000 0000 0404 – BIC: GEBABEBB for the giving circle are entitled to a reduction of 45% on the amount effectively transferred, which is mentioned on the tax certificate issued by the Foundation.

Cleaning up farming in Benin and the rest of Africa

To achieve that result, we had to convince farmers, because initially they were very hesitant to use the organic products.Today, they follow us, especially since they no longer have to wear protective clothing to avoid burns caused by the chemical products. BioPhyto products are better for their health and that of the population, which can now count on healthy and organic food. And that means great long-term progress for health, the environment and the economy."
