Observatory of Social Engagement

Developing and sharing knowledge about civic engagement, community life and foundations.

The actors of civil society, citizens, associations and foundations contribute to meeting the challenges of society and strengthening our democracy. It is an important role, which is recognised and supported by the Observatory of social engagement, led by the King Baudouin Foundation. Its mission is to objectivise, develop and share knowledge about citizens’ civic engagement, the voluntary sector and foundations.

Our activities

  • we conduct research that enables us to monitor developments, trends and particularities of the sector (financial health, volunteering, economic impact)
  • and we publish and disseminate relevant data and results regarding the sector.

Observatory of Social Engagement is part of the programme Social engagement
